The Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA) takes pride as it formally introduced its new set of officers, board of directors and committee chairs for the 2012-2014 at thePPhA Induction Ceremony held last June 27, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City.
“The Pharmacist needs to stand up and be heard, he needs to move forward and service consumers and patients only with quality pharmaceutical care, and passivity should never an option.” This was Ms. LeonilaOcampo’s inaugural speech in 2010 when she became the president of the PPhA for 2010-2012. Ms. Ocampo gave a recall of her 3-point agenda to promote patient optimum health outcomes through medication safety, to increase membership and to develop a good database, and generating resources. According to her these points were achieved through strengthening partnership with different stakeholders in the field of pharmacy. She proudly announced that the PPhA now has a good database of members, which will soon allow us to know the number and demographics of pharmacists in the country. PPhA hosted international conferences which also gave net proceeds to run projects.
As re-elected president of the Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA), Ms. Ocampo is now challenging her fellow elected officers, appointed committee chairs and co-chairs, members and non-members to work towards a beneficial change to achieve progress and to monitor this progress for to continually change for the better with practice, science and education, through the PPhA.
Ms. Normita D. Leyesa bestowed their duties while Rep. Salvador Escudero III,who inducted the PPhA officers and Board of Directors for 2012 – 2014, gave an inspirational message emphasizing on the roles of pharmacists in the health care improvement.

Arguilla(Philippine Society of Hospital Pharmacists), Ms. Marita P. Siscar(Philippine Association of Pharmacists on the Pharmaceutical Industry ), Dr. Imelda G. Peña (Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacy), Ms. Mercelinda R. Gutierrez (Industrial Pharmacists Association of the Philippines, Inc.), Mrs. Rebecca M. Flores (Community Pharmacists Association of the Philippines), Ms. Dalisay T. de Gusman(Philippine Association of Pharmacists in the Veterinary Industry), Prof. Roderick L. Salenga(Young Pharmacists Group – Philippines), Ms. Catherine Clare M. Rivera (Cosmetics Health and Wellness Pharmacists Association, Inc.), Ms. Renee Katherine Plantilla(Federation of Junior Chapter of the Philippine Pharmacists Association).
